Community Health Center of Branch County (CHC) has a full campus, which houses not only the hospital, but also the Family Medicine Clinic, Substance Treatment and Referral Service, the Houghton Family Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center, cardiac rehabilitation, home health and hospice services, occupational health services, and the CHC Pediatric and Adolescent Center.

The emergency department sees more than 23,000 patients a year. The department has telemedicine capabilities to link with Borgess Medical Center to consult on cases. CHC’s emergency department has won the Governor’s Award for Excellence in the ER for four consecutive years. Services include 24-hour physician staffed emergency room, a critical care unit, cardiopulmonary and respiratory care, surgical services, diabetes education, sexual assault services, in-patient behavioral health services, and a full range of outpatient laboratory and radiology services as well. The ED has 24 hours of physician coverage daily, with 12-hour shifts. There is an additional 12 hours of nurse practitioner or physician assistant coverage daily. Clinicians utilize the EMR Meditech®.

Coldwater, Michigan is located in southwest Michigan, in Branch County. It is located 35 miles from Battle Creek, 60 miles from Lansing, and just 11 miles from the Indiana border. Branch County is a diverse and thriving rural area with a large agricultural and manufacturing base. Its citizens are committed to family, education, and community. The county is also very well known for its preservation of some of the most beautiful turn-of-the-century architecture.
