Nanticoke Memorial Hospital is a 120-bed hospital that includes extended care, business services, outpatient services, medical centers across Sussex County Delaware, and a host of preventive medicine and health education programs. Additionally, this facility is a certified Primary Stroke Center. Each part of Nanticoke Health Services works together to focus on fulfilling the mission statement: “We exist to positively impact our communities’ quality of life through improved health status.” As a member of the Maryland Quality Improvement Project, which compares the quality of care among 900 hospitals across the United States, Nanticoke Health Services consistently, receives high ratings.

Verified Level II Trauma Center by American College of Surgeons

The emergency department serves 39,000 patients per year as a Level III Trauma Center. The broad patient pathology, excellent group of EM physicians, and highly competent, responsive resources of backup specialists make this a desirable work environment. The ED has 30-hours of physician coverage daily. There is an additional 46-hours of nurse practitioner or physician assistant coverage daily. Clinicians utilize the EMR Cerner®.
