Lakeland Community Hospital Watervliet is a 49-bed, acute-care facility in rural southwest Michigan. The community hospital has over 275 associates and partners with 90 primary and specialty care physicians. Founded in 1949, the not-for-profit hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency care, acute and outpatient rehabilitation, orthopedics, radiology, laboratory, and inpatient and outpatient surgery. The facility has recently integrated with the Lakeland Health System.

This brand new emergency department sees approximately 11,000 patients per year and averages less than two patients per hour. The ED has 24 hours of physician coverage daily, with 12-hour shifts.  Clinicians utilize the EMR EPIC®.


Watervliet, Michigan is a safe and friendly community that provides a good quality of life for families. The downtown area has an old-fashioned Main Street with antique stores and gift shops that attract tourists. The Paw Paw Lakes have been a long time tourist destination along with the beautiful farmland, rolling hills, quaint shops, and wineries.
