The Waverly Urgent Care and Specialty Center is an extension of the Southern Ohio Medical Center and is also an Ambulatory Infusion Clinic. The urgent care is a 13-bed facility that sees approximately 10,000 visits annually, providing care for minor illnesses and injuries in a quick and easy manner. The specialty center also offers consultations and follow up appointments with SOMC Specialists such as pulmonology, neurology, general surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, medical oncology, and orthopedics. The SOMC Wound Healing Center is also on site weekly for appointments.

The SOMC Urgent Care Center in Waverly opened in 2012 and is a fully-staffed facility providing non-emergent care. The urgent care is a 13-bed facility that sees approximately 10,000 visits annually and is open 365 days a year from 8 am to 8 pm. Staff includes a combination of physicians, certified nurse practitioners, nurses, x-ray technologists, registration staff, and lab technologists. The staff is trained to provide non-emergent care and treat minor accidents with access to on-site radiology and laboratory services.

Waverly, Ohio is located 30 minutes from Portsmouth, Ohio, where the Southern Ohio Medical Center main campus is based. It's a community that, in recent years, has put together a strong record of development and growth. In season recreational activities include hiking, boating on the Ohio River and swimming at Lake White and Pike Lake State Parks, golfing on championship courses, and great hunting and fishing areas.
